My trip down the Mississippi with Dave Randolph will also serve as a fundraiser for alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs.
This fundraiser is in memory of Colin Crumm, who struggled with alcohol addiction most of his adult life but passed away in August 2015 from cancer. In the last few years of his life, he achieved sobriety with the help of the folks at the Hope Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Eventually, Colin became a substance abuse counselor himself and working with the Hope Center was able to help others regain control of their lives.
Donors can pledge any amount they desire per mile that we paddle down the river. Of course, if you would rather just donate a flat amount, you can do that as well.
The fundraising will benefit the Key Development in Brighton, Michigan, and the Hope Center of Lexington, Kentucky. Go to the donation page of this blog to participate.
